Why are we continuing to follow pre-pandemic ethics and practices in the workplace while giving lip service to the reality that our world is forever changed?

How do leaders find their way through this conundrum?  Societal values are in the process of shifting but our behaviours as a society (by and large) have not.

Leadership is the process of taking our people on a journey with us.  As leaders this requires us to know the goal, the vision, the direction of where we are heading.  In these days and times this could well prove to be our biggest challenge as individuals and as leaders.

Leaders are often called out for not ‘walking the walk’.  This should make us question how well are we leading our own self through this life?  Is our vision clear?  Have our values and goals shifted or changed because of the pandemic and its global impacts?

If we have not taken the time to reconnect with ourselves to ensure we are authentically aligned our followers will (either consciously or subconsciously) pick up on this and be impacted by it. Having clarity on our personal life direction will enhance our capacity to set professional direction and deliver leadership that has value in the midst of a society undergoing significant change.
